
Southwest Michigan Health Information Management Association (SWMHIMA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving health information professionals throughout the southwest Michigan and its surrounding areas. They are committed to creating and utilizing systems and standards for quality healthcare information, along with investigating and applying new technology in the management of health information. These healthcare professionals are employed at a variety of healthcare settings, such as, hospitals, clinics, physicians offices, nursing homes, mental care facilities, insurance companies, healthcare maintenance organizations (HMOs), consulting firms and vendor associations.
OBJECTIVES

Plan four educational programs a year.

Provide the educational programs at a reasonable cost and within the association's budget.

Provide a minimum of 16 C.E. credits per year.

Annually increase the number of members by 5%.

Provide timely communication on upcoming meetings, critical issues and the promotion of networking among the members.
